Job summary

The Wickaninnish Inn is seeking a Bartender to join our restaurant team on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. You will lead bar service, create cocktails, and ensure guest satisfaction aligned with Relais & Châteaux, Forbes, and AAA standards.

Strong communication, teamwork, and a passion for hospitality are essential. The role involves working at The Pointe Restaurant and possibly assisting In-Room Dining, with a focus on superior guest experiences and sustainability practices.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn in a team environment and strive to exceed Relais & Chateaux, AAA 4 & 5 Diamond, and Forbes standards.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced bar and fine dining or high-end restaurant setting.
• Thorough knowledge of food, wine, beer, cocktails, port, scotch and other spirits.
• Attention to detail and exceptional guest service.
• Professionalism and positive attitude.
• Calm, polite and composed demeanor.
• A desire to contribute exciting and innovative ideas to the Pointe Restaurant and Wickaninnish Inn.
• Self-motivation in learning about wines and spirits.

Responsibilities

• Lead service at the bar and be a role model for operating standards.
• Prepare a wide range of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits and other beverages.
• Serve guests at the bar and assist with In-Room Dining orders.
• Maintain knowledge of cocktails and develop new recipes for the program.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the Bar and assist with inventory control.
• Assist with Wine Cellar organization and work in a team environment.
• Balance end-of-day financial transactions and support The Pointe Restaurant as needed.
