Job summary

The Wickaninnish Inn on Vancouver Island is hiring a Bartender to join our Restaurant Team. Learn and grow in a Relais & Châteaux property recognized for Forbes, Michelin, and AAA Four Diamond standards while delivering personalized guest service at the bar and in-room dining.

You will craft cocktails, manage bar inventory, balance end-of-day transactions, and collaborate in a busy fine dining environment, with a strong West Coast hospitality spirit and a commitment to excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced bar and fine dining.
• Knowledge of food, wine, beer, cocktails and spirits.
• Must have Serving It Right Certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a wide range of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits and other beverages and adhere to guest special requests.
• Be responsible for the service of guests seated at the bar and preparation of beverages for In-Room Dining orders.
• Balance end of day financial transactions.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the Bar.
• Inventory control & ordering.
• Assist with Wine Cellar organization.

Job Description

Join our Restaurant Team as a Bartender, where you have the opportunity to learn and grow in a Relais & Châteaux property recognized by Forbes, Michelin Key, AAA Four Diamond, and Travel & Leisure’s World’s Best Hotels.

As a Bartender you will:

• Ensure efficient and personalized guest service meeting Forbes, AAA 4 & 5 Diamond Standards is delivered at all times.
• Prepare a wide range of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits and other beverages and adhere to guest special requests.
• Be responsible for the service of guests seated at the bar and preparation of beverages for In-Room Dining orders.
• Have knowledge of Silverware Point of Sale system.
• Have thorough knowledge of cocktails and ability to develop new recipes around a creative cocktail program.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the Bar.
• Be responsible for inventory control & ordering.
• Assist with Wine Cellar organization.
• Work in a team environment and assist in The Pointe Restaurant as required.
• Balance end of day financial transactions.

• A valid Serving It Right Certification.
• A desire to contribute exciting and innovative ideas towards the ongoing improvement of The Pointe Restaurant and the Wickaninnish Inn as a whole.
• Self-motivation in learning extensively about wines and spirits.

Salary/Wage

$18.25 per hour
