Job summary

Barbarella is seeking an experienced bartender for a full-time permanent role in Calgary, Alberta. You will create and serve cocktails and beverages, provide top-notch service, and help maintain a high-standard bar operation within a stylish, mid-century inspired venue.

Requirements include at least 1 year of cocktail bar experience, strong English communication, basic math and POS skills, and Alberta ProServe certification within 30 days of starting. Must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Create, mix, pour, garnish, and serve beverages for bar and restaurant guests.
• Provide the highest level of customer service while maintaining a professional image.
• Build and maintain regular clientele.
• Adapt to different client personalities to maintain high service levels.
• Ensure surfaces and equipment are clean and maintained.
• Assist in table service and ordering processes when needed.

Barbarellais looking for an experiencedbartenderto fill out their team on a full-time permanent basis.Bartendersare responsible for several functions including, but not limited to, providing exceptional customer service to all guests in a prompt and friendly manner, following all laws and regulations regarding liquor service,stocking the bar and cooler, setting up and taking down the bar completely, and preparingall the bar syrups,andgarnishes.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Create, mix, pour, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for the bar and restaurant guests.
• Consistently execute drink production principles and practices, ensuring that all recipes and practices are followed.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to all guests, while maintaining a personable and professional image representative of the restaurant’s values.
• Building and maintaining regular clientele.
• Adapt to different personalities of clients, vendors, and coworkers to maintain high service levels and efficient operations.
• Ensure all services and orders delivered within the bar operation are charged for correctly.
• Maintain effective cost and portion controls to meet profit goals.
• Ensure all surfaces and equipment are kept clean and in excellent condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs.
• Ensure drink times are in line with the restaurant guidelines.
• Assist in table service as a main duty.
• Assist in placing product orders and ensure fresh product through a detailed and updated order guide.
• Fully understand and comply with all federal, provincial, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests.
• Work overtime when needed and assist the workload of others.
• Execute ad-hoc administrative and operational duties are required.

WHAT YOU HAVE

• 1 year cocktail bar experience is required.
• Strong English communication skills with ability to establish and develop relationships with team members, partners, and customers.
• Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
• Basic math skills, can handle money, and operate a point-of-sale system.
• Valid Alberta ProServe certification obtained within 30 days of starting.
• Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations.
• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
• Capacity to safely lift and easily maneuver potentially heavy trays of food and drinks.
• Must be over 18 as alcohol service and open scheduling availability is a requirement.
