Hyatt Regency Vancouver is seeking a dedicated, professional, customer service-oriented individual to join the Beverage team as a Bartender.

Bartenders are responsible for providing libations and offering customized recommendations. The right person should be familiar with the latest in mixology, bar equipment, and sanitation standards, with a focus on maintaining an attractive bar. This position offers opportunities for casual conversation, creativity, and building on one’s style and previous bartending experiences. Preferred candidates will have an understanding of local serving guidelines.

Candidate must be available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays. Shifts could be opening shifts (AM, MID, or PM) starting at 10 AM and/or closing shifts until 2 AM.

Starting wage for this position is $20.72 per hour, increasing to $24.18 after 6 months, and to $27.63 after 1 year.

• Must have BC Serving It Right certificate
• Must have Food Safe Level 1 certificate
• Must be available for various shifts, including weekends and holidays, depending on business needs
• Must be able to work shifts starting at 10:00 am and ending at 2:00 am
• At least one year of bartending experience in a hotel, restaurant, or pub setting
• Previous customer service experience is required
• Ability to engage in conversations with all guests
• Previous cash handling experience is preferred
• Good upselling skills
• Excellent team player, able to communicate with a diverse group
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills
• Upbeat personality, positive and professional attitude
• Refined verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of a second language is an asset

Physical Aspects of Position (including but not limited to):

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
• Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling
