Job description

Bell 2 Lodge - Cafe Attendant

Bell 2 Lodge is seeking a highly self-motivated Cafe Attendant with a keen eye for detail who enjoys working independently to operate the coffee program and gas station at our remote lodge in Northern BC.

The Cafe Attendant must LOVE customer service. Responsibilities include catering to tourists and industrial workers, managing the gas station, lunch menu, and espresso machine, maintaining inventory levels of confectionery, beverages, and house-made food items, and ensuring a clean environment for guests while handling sales and cash register operations.

Our ideal candidate is a skilled barista, proficient in latte art, and capable of maintaining and adjusting a manual 2-group head espresso machine.

  1. Friendly and positive personality with a genuine desire to help and please others.
  2. Energetic and patient, able to multi-task and work independently.
  3. Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to thrive in a diverse environment with a focus on guest satisfaction.
  5. Cash handling experience is required.
  6. Mandatory barista experience; server experience is an asset.
  7. Proficiency in English required; additional languages (French, German) are assets.
  8. Accurate inventory record keeping and routine ordering.
  9. Organizational skills to ensure product freshness through proper rotation.
  10. Effective communication skills with guests, management, employees, and suppliers.
  11. Ability to take initiative and adapt to changing demands positively under pressure.
  12. Passion for working outdoors and with people is an asset.

Requirements:

  1. Serving It Right Certificate required (or willingness to obtain before start).
  2. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  3. Previous experience in a remote lodge is an asset.
  4. Legal entitlement to work in Canada is mandatory.
Other Perks & Benefits

Shifts are three weeks on, one week off, with ten-hour days. Accommodation and meals are provided during rotation. Transfers to and from Terrace are available during off weeks; flights are at your own cost. Winter perks include heliskiing for strong skiers and snowboarders, conditions permitting.
