Job summary

Banff Lodging Co. in Banff, Alberta, invites an experienced barista to join a team that treats coffee as craft. You will start mornings with a warm presence, craft espresso drinks, and contribute to a welcoming guest experience.

ProServe certification is required. You should be able to multitask calmly and maintain clean stations, while delivering latte art and high-quality beverages across breakfast and brunch service.

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of espresso equipment and extraction techniques.
  • Proficiency in latte art and a dedication to quality and presentation.
  • ProServe certification (required).
  • A passion for hospitality and strong communication skills.
  • A calm, focused demeanor with excellent multitasking ability.
  • Availability for early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Set the tone each morning with a warm, welcoming presence.
  • Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks with consistency, creativity, and precision.
  • Pour clean, thoughtful latte art that reflects a commitment to craft.
  • Maintain the coffee station and equipment to the highest standard of cleanliness and functionality.
  • Manage coffee prep, inventory, and restocking efficiently.
  • Assist with light food prep and service during breakfast and brunch hours.
  • Support the front-of-house team with morning opening duties.
  • Stay calm, organized, and detail-oriented, even during busy service.
  • Follow all health and safety policies, reporting any concerns promptly.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, respectful, and supportive team culture.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the guest and business needs.
