Job summary

B*HOSPITALITY is seeking part-time banquet servers to deliver exceptional service at conferences, weddings, and events in the Cambridge area. You will greet guests, set up banquet spaces, serve courses, handle beverages, and help reset rooms for subsequent functions. Flexibility across mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.

We value attention to detail, strong communication, and teamwork. Smart Serve certification is preferred, and the role reports to the Banquet Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in serving and hospitality settings.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure.
• Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Smart Serve certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms as instructed by Supervisor to include linen, service ware and glassware.
• Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars and expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Serve food and beverages in order and to Supervisor’s specifications; clear tables promptly.
• Replenish beverages and monitor guest satisfaction throughout events.
• Reset banquet room after events for the next function.
• Assist with AV setup and guest requests as needed.
• Pack and load for events when required.

You are confident, enthusiastic and driven and love the opportunity to provide outstanding service during our Events. You will work Conferences, Weddings, Workshops…we’ve got them all and we need you to deliver excellence to each one of our Guests.

REPORTS TO: Banquet Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Set up banquet rooms as instructed by Supervisor to include linen, service ware and glassware.
• Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars, including guest and hotel expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve the food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the Supervisor to ensure consistency throughout the banquet. Promptly remove dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal at the end of the meal or function.
• Replenish beverages as necessary, and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
• Once banquet is complete, reset banquet room according to Supervisor’s specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for the following function.
• Service meetings through A/V assistance food service and guests requests
• Pack for events and load trucks
