We are seeking a Banquet Manager to contribute to the hotel's success by delivering superior customer service and managing the banquet and catering functions in alignment with Coast Hotels’ long-term strategy. This role involves fostering growth within the team, enhancing operational efficiencies, and maximizing customer satisfaction and profitability.

Responsibilities
  1. Business & Operational Leadership
  • Define the future direction of the banquet and catering department, set goals, and seek growth opportunities
  • Create and implement departmental plans with measurable objectives
  • Set and communicate goals, targets, and quality standards
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and monitor service quality, providing feedback accordingly
  • Manage supply orders and inventory counts
  • Maintain health & safety standards and oversee security for property, staff, and guests
  • People, Culture & Guest Leadership
    • Oversee daily operations and delegate tasks within the banquet and catering team
    • Ensure delivery of excellent guest service aligned with company policies and brand promises
    • Foster a motivating and engaging environment, accessible to team members
    • Maintain staffing levels and manage scheduling
    • Recruit, communicate, and develop team members effectively
    • Manage team performance with regular feedback to support high standards
    • Demonstrate a superior customer service attitude
    Skills, Knowledge & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent experience
    • 3-5 years management experience in food & beverage industry
    • Certifications such as FOODSAFE and Serving It Right
    • Hepatitis A vaccination recommended
    • Professional appearance and attitude
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Cash handling experience is an asset
    • Strong multitasking, attention to detail, and organizational skills
    • Ability to lead and work independently or as part of a team
    • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
