Job summary

Hôtel Mont Gabriel, a Tribute Portfolio property, is seeking banquet setup staff to join our events team in Sainte-Adèle, QC. You will assist with setup and breakdown of banquets, arrange tables, chairs, decorations and AV gear, and support service during coffee breaks and meals.

This full-time role offers a unique ski-in/ski-out setting with on-site meals, team perks, and opportunities for growth within Tidan and Marriott networks.

Qualifications

• Hospitality or food service experience is an asset.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Physically able to lift items and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Work with the banquet team to set up and breakdown events.
• Prepare banquet rooms, arrange tables, chairs, decorations and AV gear.
• Assist service staff during coffee breaks and meals.
• Support equipment or material needs during events.
• Respond to special requests and help with post-event teardown.
• Maintain cleanliness and storage of banquet rooms and linens.
• Communicate clearly with team to ensure coordinated service.
• Adhere to scheduled hours and uniform standards.

Your Responsibilities

• Work closely with the banquet team to ensure efficient setup and breakdown of events.
• Prepare and organize banquet rooms based on the specific requirements of each event, following the department manager’s guidelines.
• Handle setup of tables, chairs, decorations, and audiovisual equipment, ensuring everything is in place before guests arrive.
• Assist service staff in setting up meeting spaces and coffee break areas, and provide service during coffee breaks and lunch box distributions.
• Support any equipment or material needs during events.
• Respond to special guest requests, such as rearranging furniture or adding/removing materials.
• Participate in post-event takedown, ensuring proper storage of all equipment and furnishings.
• Carry out general maintenance and cleaning of banquet rooms, including storage of cutlery, dishware, and linens.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless and coordinated service.
• Adhere to scheduled work hours and follow company policies on appearance and uniform standards.

• Previous experience in hospitality or food service is an asset.
• Team-oriented with the ability to follow instructions from supervisors.
• Physically fit, as the role requires lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle stressful or unexpected situations calmly and efficiently during events.
• Flexible schedule with availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
