Job summary

BDO Canada is seeking a Manager, Banking to join our Banking Centre of Excellence within Personal Debt Solutions, anywhere in Canada. This leadership role oversees the COE and ensures high-quality, compliant, client-focused banking services across offices.

You will supervise day-to-day operations, allocate workloads, and coach a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate has at least five years in insolvency, strong leadership, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related experience within the Insolvency field.
• Primary focus will be on consumer insolvency work.
• Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to accommodate varying work schedules, including occasional evenings.
• Strong leadership, communication, and client-service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day banking operations across multiple offices, ensuring accuracy, compliance and service excellence.
• Coordinate and distribute workload across the team, monitor progress and ensure timely completion.
• Oversee high-volume transactional workflows: reconciliations, PAD, dividends, interim payments, disbursements, and fee cheques.
• Provide guidance to resolve complex banking issues and client escalations.
• Communicate performance expectations, priorities, and objectives to the team.
• Partner with Licensed Insolvency Trustees and other leaders to align banking operations with firm priorities.
• Identify performance gaps and implement improvement plans.
• Ensure work is completed efficiently and in line with QA standards.
• Coach, mentor, and support team members' growth and expertise.
