Job summary

AgeCare in New Westminster, BC, is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal service in a long-term care residence. You will assist with setting up, serving, and cleaning, deliver meals to residents, and help maintain a clean dining and kitchen area.

Ideal candidates hold a Food Handler's Certificate, have prior food service experience with seniors, and are physically able to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods. A Vulnerable Sector Check is required or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Must have or be working toward a Food Handler's Certificate.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Experience in food service and with seniors preferred.
• Able to lift heavy/hot items and stand/walk for most of the shift.
• Second language is an asset.
• Must provide Vulnerable Sector Check or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional, courteous manner.
• Assist with setup and preparation for meal service (beverages, salads, desserts, etc.).
• Set and clear dining tables; deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with dishware/kitchen/dining area cleaning; support catering and special events.
• Assist in orientation and training of new dietary staff; comply with health and safety regulations.
