AgeCare is seeking a Behavioural Support Worker (BSW) to join our interdisciplinary team and support residents with complex behaviors, mental health, and addictions. You will observe, report, and contribute to individualized care plans while collaborating with nursing, social work, and therapy staff.

The role emphasizes proactive prevention, person-centered care, and strong communication to protect resident safety and dignity.

Qualificações

• Minimum two years of experience in complex behavior, mental health or addictions settings.
• Diploma/degree in Community/Behaviour or rehabilitation-focused background, Addictions, Aboriginal Studies or related field.
• Experience in non-violent crisis intervention and behaviour management.
• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
• CPR and First Aid certified; ASIST would be an asset.

Responsabilidades

• Observe and report on resident status and changes in mental, emotional, and physical status.
• Conduct behavioural observations and identify patterns and triggers.
• Support development and implementation of individualized care plans.
• Contribute to care plan development with observations and knowledge of residents' needs.
• Review care plans and suggest changes with Regulated staff.
• Participate in care conferences as needed.
• Identify issues affecting client safety and address them.
• Implement interventions as specified in the care plan.
• Spend 1-1 time with residents and encourage social interaction.
• Welcome new residents and orient families to the home environment.
• Maintain confidentiality for all residents and staff.

The BSW provides ongoing encouragement and support to residents with complex behaviors, mental health, behavioural and/or addiction diagnoses and meet individual needs within their level of knowledge, skill sets & competency.The BSW observes, monitors and reports on client status/condition including changes in behavior, mental, emotional, and general physical status. The BSW ensures that changes in resident status are reported to the assigned interdisciplinary staff member.What Is In It For You:Observe and reports on resident status/condition.
