Job summary

AgeCare in Canada seeks a dedicated Behavioral Support Worker to join an interdisciplinary team. You will support residents with complex behaviours, monitor status changes, and report to the appropriate professionals to ensure timely interventions.

The role includes conducting behavioural observations, helping to develop and implement individualized care plans, and spending one-on-one time with residents while maintaining confidentiality and upholding privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum experience in complex behavior, mental health or addictions settings.
• Diploma/degree in community/behaviour or related field is required.
• Experience in non-violent crisis intervention and behaviour management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report on resident status/condition and changes in behavior.
• Communicate changes in residents' mental, emotional and physical status to regulated professionals promptly.
• Conduct behavioural observations and identify patterns and triggers.
• Support development and implementation of individualized care plans.
• Spend 1-1 time with residents and encourage social interaction.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure resident rights are protected.
