HeadHunting Inc. is seeking a Development Support Worker (DSW) - Autism to join a team serving Barrie, Oshawa, Markham area. You will provide individualized direct care to young adults and youth with complex needs, including ASD, in diverse settings.

Roles include implementing ABA-based behaviour programs, completing daily progress notes, and promoting client inclusion within the community. Requires two years of relevant experience and current First Aid/CPR, VSS within six months.

Qualifications

  • Current Safe Management Training (Preferred)
  • Community college diploma or university degree in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum 2 years direct care work with complex needs and behavioural challenges
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Screening completed within the last 6 months
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR

Development Support Worker (DSW) - Autism

HeadHunting Inc. is currently looking to fill various DSW Position in the Barrie, Oshawa, Markham area. This will be a team of Associates in the location, providing specialized services and individualized Direct Care Services to young Adults and youth with complex special needs, mental health and behavioural challenges including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In this exciting role you will have the opportunity to work within various settings gaining valuable work opportunities, skills, and further your professional experience. MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current Safe Management Training (Preferred)
  • Community college diploma or university degree in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum 2 years direct care work and experience with complex special needs clients with behavioural challenges
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Screening, completed within the last 6 months
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting individuals with a developmental disability/dual diagnosis
  • Knowledge of the principles of applied behaviour analysis
  • Flexible availability both in advance and short notice
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Conflict resolution and effective behavioural management skills
