Job summary

J.D. Irving, Limited in Canada is seeking a Systems Specialist to join the Cloud and Data Center team.

You will design and maintain scalable Azure cloud solutions, collaborate with architects and developers, and drive IaC using ARM, Bicep, or Terraform on-site. This full-time role requires a university degree, 3–8 years in IT environments, and strong AD/ADFS, Windows/Linux, virtualization, storage, and backup experience.

Qualifications

• Education required: university degree, college diploma or related discipline.
• 3–8 years of experience in IT environments (systems).
• Knowledge/Experience in Active Directory (AD), AD Federated Services (ADFS), Windows/Linux Server OS, virtualization, storage, and enterprise backup services.
• Knowledge/Experience in Cloud Platforms such as Azure and Amazon.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure Azure cloud solutions.
• Collaborate with architects and developers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Lead deployment and configuration of Azure services including compute, storage, networking, and identity.
• Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using ARM, Bicep, or Terraform.
• Ensure system reliability and performance through monitoring and automated recovery.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes for incidents.
• Optimize cloud costs and resource utilization.
• Maintain security and compliance across Azure environments.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
