Job summary

J.D. Irving, Limited is seeking a Project Lead to drive technology-enabled business solutions across its group of companies. You will lead IT projects through the full lifecycle, coordinating stakeholders and coaching teams for performance in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time on-site role requires CGP, government security clearance, and ITAR readiness, with opportunities to grow into senior leadership as the national program expands.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering; MBA preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of project management with IT experience and career progression.
  • Excellent leadership, people and process management in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with urgency.
  • Strong communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Lean Six Sigma/Prosci/Agile PM assets are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of IT projects from concept to implementation across the J.D. Irving businesses.
  • Manage project communications at all organizational levels, including executives.
  • Coach and mentor project team members to optimize performance and innovation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client success.

As a Project Lead, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of technology enabled business solutions for the J.D. Irving, Limited group of companies. In this role, you will provide strong leadership in a dynamic and fast paced work environment enabling the growth and improvement of the businesses.

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of information technology projects into the J.D. Irving businesses through all stages of the project lifecycle from original concept to implementation
  • Manage communications related to the project at all levels of the organization and across businesses; including executive levels
  • Proactively engage in coaching and mentoring of project team members to help staff reach optimal level of performance and foster a working environment open to new ideas and innovative solutions
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure client success
  • Responsible for the management of project scope, schedule, budget, resourcing, risk and quality management
  • Monitoring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Manage the integration of vendor tasks and track and review vendor deliverables
  • Communicating with customers to provide updates, gather feedback, and address any issues or concerns
  • Communicating the value of IT initiatives and achievements to the organization’s leadership and stakeholders
  • Providing guidance and support to customers in using the company product and services effectively
Qualifications
  • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering, MBA preferred
  • Years of Experience Required: 3-5+ years of project management with IT experience and demonstrated career progression
  • Excellent leadership, people and process management skills with proven success in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to organize, analyze, interpret and evaluate problems and provide solutions with the right sense of urgency
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Lean Six Sigma experience would be considered an asset
  • Prosci certification would be considered an asset
  • Agile Project Management Certification would be considered an asset
