Gordon Food Service in Arnprior is seeking an AZ Transit Driver at the Arnprior Depot, with a Sunday to Wednesday 5:30pm–7:30pm start. You will transport loaded and empty trailers, deliver to our volume customers, and operate refrigerated van equipment safely.

The role offers starting pay of $31.11 per hour plus full benefits after 30 days, a flex benefits program, RRSP company match, and opportunities for advancement within a 125-year family-owned company.

Qualificações

• Valid Class 1 license is a MUST.
• A minimum of 2 years of AZ driving experience is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsabilidades

• Ensures safe, accurate, timely, and efficient deliveries of GFS products.
• Transports loaded and empty trailers from GFS Distribution Centers or from point-to-point via night transit in a timely manner.
• Collaborates with the Supervisor and Leadership and/or dispatcher for work assignments, changes in assignments and on-time delivery performance.
• Perform proper equipment maintenance, monitor reefers and report issues.

Position: AZ Transit Driver - Arnprior Depot

Schedule: Sunday to Wednesday 5:30pm to 7:30pm start time

Position Summary:

Presents a positive image to Gordon Food Service (GFS) while transporting loaded and empty trailers from GFS Distribution Centers or from point-to-point via night transit in a timely manner. Presents a positive image when delivering to our volume customers. Operates GFS equipment in a professional and safe manner demonstrating attention to detail, safe work habits, and working knowledge of refrigerated van.

Skills, Knowledge and Ability Required:

Valid AZ driver's license with a clean commercial driver's abstract Previous professional driving experience is preferred Ability to work in a variety of weather, temperature and road conditions

Essential Functions:

• Ensures safe, accurate, timely, and efficient deliveries of GFS products.
• Transports loaded and empty trailers from GFS Distribution Centers or from point-to-point via night transit in a timely manner.
• Collaborates with the Supervisor and Leadership and/or dispatcher for work assignments, changes in assignments and on-time delivery performance.
• Perform proper equipment maintenance, monitor reefer temperature, and reports mechanical issues and damages in timely manner.
• Complete daily check-ins in a timely manner with no errors.
• Collaborates with management and sales representatives to communicate customer concerns.
• Perform daily pre/post trip inspection of vehicles and equipment.
• Completes check in process accurately and on time.
• Manage paperwork to include register, credits, pick-ups, etc
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with other GFS employees.
• Maintains peer relationships in the field to share issues and ideas.
• Attending department meetings
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

Valid Class 1 license is a MUST A minimum of 2 years of AZ driving experience is required. Requires punctuality, problem solving and attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently and also function in a team environment. Must be goal oriented with a positive “can-do” attitude. Ability to meet the physical demands of this job including lifting, pushing, pulling of product.

Depot Specific Requirements:

• Flexibility to cover other nearby Depots as required.
• Flexibility to cover nearby depots for both deliveries, and/or night transit routes for vacation or sick coverage as needed
• Ability to work weekends is required
• Availability to work a full 10-13 hour shift is required.
• Understanding that hours fluctuate depending on weather business needs.
