Job summary

Gordon Food Service in Owen Sound, ON is seeking an AZ Driver who is physically fit, customer-focused, and ready to join a dependable team. The role offers a competitive hourly rate for the first three months and a clear path to a stable, home-daily schedule.

Local routes are guaranteed, and benefits become available after 30 days of employment. As part of the depot team, you will manually sort and unload products, operate straight trucks or trailers, and perform pre/post-trip inspections while

Qualifications

• Valid AZ driver's license with clean abstract.
• Physically able to lift up to 80 lbs.
• Excellent English communication and customer service.
• Experience driving commercial vehicles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationships.
• Manually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into customer locations (approx. 600–1000 cases/shift).
• Operating straight trucks or trailers safely and professionally to transport goods and materials on urban, short inter-urban and rural routes.
• Conducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining accurate records of delivery routes, temperature logs, count sheets and incident reporting.
• Performing product delivery verification at the customer location and maintaining customer invoices.
• Following health and safety and safe work procedures.

AZ Driver Position Highlights:

• Location: Owen Sound, ON
• Competitive hourly rate for first 3 months ($31.11 per hour)
• Shift: Day Shifts: 3 - 5 am start times, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
• Pay for performance incentive program after 3 months
• 4 day work week with overtime opportunities (if applicable)

Skills, Knowledge and Ability Required:

• Valid AZ driver's license with a clean commercial driver's abstract
• Physically fit and able to repeatedly lift, stack, pull and carry heavy items (up to 80 lbs)
• Strong communication and customer service skills with English fluency
• Previous professional driving experience is preferred
• Ability to work in a variety of weather, temperature and road conditions

DEPOT SPECIFIC JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Please note that in addition to the above job description the following criteria are applicable for all of our depot specific positions:

• Flexibility to cover other nearby Depots as required.
• Flexibility to cover nearby depots for both deliveries, and/or night transit routes for vacation or sick coverage as needed
• Ability to work weekends is required
• Availability to work a full 10-13 hour shift is required.
• Understanding that hours fluctuate depending on weather business needs.
