Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking an AZ Driver to join our Mississauga team, primarily operating a Tanker Trailer, with occasional Box Truck, Van Trailer, or Vacuum Truck use.

This role requires a valid AZ license and tanker experience, with a preference for cross-border familiarity and TDG/WHMIS/DOT knowledge.

Qualifications

• Valid AZ license required, manual or automatic transmission acceptable.
• Minimum 5 years AZ or 10 years DZ driving experience.
• Box truck experience required.
• Clean driver abstract required.
• Tanker/liquid transport experience.
• Knowledge of TDG, WHMIS and DOT regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
• Cross-border experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and/or pick up goods safely and efficiently with minimal guidance.
• Process documents including manifests.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections.
• Comply with TDG, WHMIS, and DOT regulations.
• Maintain a clean driving record and drive safely.
• Assist in plant when not driving (shunting, loading/unloading tankers).
• Provide customer-focused services and maintain good working relationships.
• Respond to emergencies and assist with spills cleanup.
• Participate in safety meetings and report incidents.
• Keep a safe, clean truck and workspace.
• Overtime as required.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

GFL is looking for an AZ Driver to join its team in Mississauga. The driver will be responsible for predominantly operating a Tanker Trailer, and on occasion may operate other types of trucks that fit their license such as a Box Truck, Van Trailer and Vacuum truck. No overnights

GFL is looking for an AZ Driver to join its team in Mississauga. The driver will be responsible for predominantly operating a Tanker Trailer, and on occasion may operate other types of trucks that fit their license such as a Box Truck, Van Trailer and Vacuum truck. No overnights

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver and/or pick up goods in a safe and efficient manner, with minimal guidance
• Ensure correct processing of documents, including manifests
• Perform pre/post trip inspections
• Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation of vehicle, carriage of goods, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, customs and immigration
• Maintain a clean driving record and drive safely and professionally, obeying all traffic rules at all times
• Assist in plant when not driving, including shunting, loading and unloading tankers
• Provide customer focused services in all activities and maintain good working relationship
• Respond to emergencies and help with the spills clean-up
• Actively participate in safety meetings, identify and report all incidents and participate in investigations as necessary
• Housekeeping to maintain a safe work area and clean truck
• Overtime, as required
• Other duties as requested by Supervisor

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

• Start times vary between 5am-7am and end times between 3pm-5pm
• Must possess a valid AZ license, manual or automatic transmission is acceptable
• 5 years of AZ or 10 years of DZ commercial driving experience
• Box truck experience is required.
• Must have a clean abstract
• Must have tanker/liquid transport experience
• Knowledge of TDG, WHMIS, and DOT Regulations
• Demonstrated physical ability to work, including but not limited to, length sitting, climbing, lifting and pulling.
• Must possess excellent communication skills
• Must be customer service oriented
• Experience with border crossing an asset
• Experience with transport of manifested materials an asset
