Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Vacuum Truck Operator in Greater Napanee, Ontario to support the Vacuum Truck Services team. The role focuses on pumping septic and holding tanks and hauling fluids and materials while upholding safety and compliance.

You will operate vacuum equipment, complete required paperwork, and interact professionally with clients. The position requires a DZ license, a high school diploma, and eligibility to work in Canada; occasional on-call work may apply.

Qualifications

• Three years of driver/operator experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• DZ license with current abstracts and CVOR (no demerits) required.
• Solid written communication skills for paperwork.
• Excellent verbal communication to interact with customers.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Job description

The Vacuum Truck Operator will work with the Vacuum Truck Services team to provide exceptional service to our clients. Services include pumping residential and commercial septic and holding tanks, and loading and hauling of various fluids and materials.

Key Accountabilities

• Safely operate vacuum equipment in an industrial setting
• Follow company policies and procedures as well as various on-site requirements
• Provide exceptional service to all clients and professionally represent GFL
• Accurately complete numerous and various documents, including pre/post trip inspections, manifests, log books, VCRs, etc., in a legible manner to meet compliance requirements
• Maintain detailed and accurate company documentation to accompany work performed. Participate in safety programs such as safety meetings, near miss reporting and job hazard
• Work independently while managing time and productivity and communicate effectively. Knowledge of Reg. 347/558, WMHIS, MTO regulations
• Drivers are required to adhere to all Environmental and Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Perform minor maintenance on units to maintain efficient operation
• Participate in after hours/weekend on-call program
• Perform other duties assigned

Experience, Qualifications & Education
