GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking an AZ/DZ Operator – Organics to support our liquids/organics team. You will operate vehicles and a tanker to collect waste, complete required paperwork, and ensure operations meet GFL standards and MTO regulations.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and AZ/DZ license with air brake endorsement.
• Experience operating heavy equipment and tanker capability preferred.
• Ability to complete required paperwork accurately and legibly.

Responsibilities

• Operate motorized vehicles to move material between client sites.
• Operate a tanker and ensure compliance with GFL standards.
• Complete pre/post trip inspections, manifests, and logs accurately.
• Adhere to Environmental and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Load and unload trucks and maintain customer service quality.
• Willingness to obtain required licensing and training as needed.

Job description

The AZ/ DZ Operator – Organics will support the liquids/ organics team to provide exceptional service to our clients. The role will be responsible for safely operating and/or have the ability to operate various equipment to assist in the collection of various liquid and solid wastes.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate motorized vehicles to move material between client sites.
• Must be familiar and demonstrate the ability to operate a tanker.
• Accurately complete numerous and various documents, including pre/post trip inspections, manifests, log books, VCRs, etc., in a legible manner to meet compliance requirements.
• Ensure that all equipment and systems are operated as per GFL standards.
• Knowledge of MTO regulations.
• Drivers are required to adhere to all Environmental and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Knowledge of the Nutrient Management Regulation.
• Willingness to obtain required licensing.
• Perform other duties assigned.

Requirements

• Three (3) years of driver/operator experience is preferred.
• High school diploma, General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent
• Must possess an AZ/DZ license (minimum class D license with air brake endorsement) and submit current abstracts, personal and CVOR (no demerits).
• Must obtain a Nutrient Management Technician online course administered through the University of Guelph.
• Must have solid written communication skills in order to complete required paperwork.
• Must have good verbal communication skills to be able to interact with internal and external customers.
• Prior experience operating heavy machinery typical within a mining environment, including farm in an agricultural environment is a definite asset. However, we are willing to train potential candidates who demonstrate a willingness to learn.
• Must be able to exercise good judgment and think proactively.
• Excellent customer service skills, with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
