Job summary

Manufacturing Job Site in Pickering, ON is seeking a trainee AZ Driver to begin developing driving skills by shunting trailers between our distribution centers. As skills develop you will graduate to local, regional, and cross-border runs over a 10-month period, while following safety policies and regulations.

The role offers a $1,500 signing bonus after Training Program, $19.00 per hour during Phase 1 and increasing with mileage phases, plus benefits after 3 months and RRSP after 12 months.

Qualifications

• Valid AZ driver's license required.
• Good driving record.
• Reliability, availability, courtesy and politeness.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-departure checks.
• Carry out movement and deliveries of materials safely.
• Respect delivery times.
• Ensure compliance of transport documents.

As a trainee AZ Driver, you will start developing your driving skills by shunting trailers between our distribution centers. As your skills develop you will graduate to local, regional, and finally cross-border runs over a 10-month period while adhering to and understanding safety policies and regulations. A clean driving record and customer service skills are a must!

What can you expect?

• Hiring bonus of $1,500 after completion of Training Program.
• $19.00 per hour (Phase 1-Shunting & Phase 2 - Local)
• $0.50 per mile Phase 3 - Regional (ON/QC)
• $0.55 per mile Phase 4 - Long haul Cross Border
• Upon completion - sign on as full time employee at full pay and benefits
• Benefits after 3 months
• Company RRSP after 12 months

What will my day to day look like?

• Perform pre-departure checks

• Ensure that the goods, the trailer and the truck are in good condition and clean
