Job summary

Canada Cartage in Oshawa, Ontario is seeking a dependable AZ Delivery Driver to transport freight locally, safely and on a timely basis.

This role requires a valid AZ license, clean CVOR and recent commercial driving experience. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complete delivery paperwork and operate in accordance with hours-of-service and load-securement standards.

Qualifications

• Valid AZ license is required.
• Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Clean CVOR and driver’s abstract.
• Recent commercial driving experience (3 months to 1 year).
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and load securement.
• Experience operating in winter driving conditions.
• Ability to complete E-logs and delivery documentation.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport freight across Ontario.
• Complete deliveries and pickups within Ontario in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
• Operate Tractor-Trailer equipment per company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Secure freight using straps, chains, and load bars per standards.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues promptly.
• Complete required documentation (e-logs, inspection, delivery, incident reports).
• Maintain hours-of-service compliance and flexibility for schedules.

Start Time: Day Shift: 5am Afternoon Shift: 12pm

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport freight acrossOntario


• Complete deliveries and pickups to customer locations within Ontarioin a safe, timely, and professional manner


• Operate Tractor-Trailer equipment in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements


• Secure freight using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, and load bars, ensuring compliance with load-securement standards


• Transport general freight in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines


• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and cargo securement; promptly report any issues to the maintenance department for timely repairs.


• Accurately complete all required documentation, including e-logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and incident reports


• Maintain compliance with hours-of-service regulations, safety policies, and company procedures


• Maintain flexibility to meet operational and customer demands, including variable schedules, overtime, weekends, or overnight runs as required

Core Requirements

• Valid AZ driver's license


• Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada


• Clean CVOR and driver’s abstract


• Verifiable recent commercial driving experience within the past 3 months to 1 year


• Strong understanding of road safety regulations, hours of service, and load securement


• Experience operating commercial vehicles in winter driving conditions


• Ability to accurately complete E-Logs, vehicle inspection reports, and delivery documentation


• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and upto 75lbs for some locations


• Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional, safety-focused approach

Role-Specific Requirements

• Minimum 6 month of verifiable AZ driving experience


• Strong knowledge of Oshawaand surrounding areas


• Previous experience operating specialized equipment power and manual pallet jacks, pump trucks


• Ability to safely perform hand-bombing, including manual loading and unloading of freight, as required
