Job summary

Canada Cartage's CommerceLink Logistics ULC division in Mississauga is seeking experienced tractor-trailer drivers. The role focuses on timely, secure local deliveries with overnight and weekend shifts, maintaining logs, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

You will drive a tractor-trailer (automatic or manual), perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and coordinate with Dispatch while meeting safety and regulatory requirements. Home daily with 48-hour weeks is typical.

Qualifications

• Age 23 or older
• Licence - AZ / Class 1 Driver's Licence
• 3 years driving experience

Responsibilities

• Inspect mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment of tractor trailer before, during, and after trips.
• Connect and disconnect semi-trailer hoses.
• Complete all applicable paperwork and maintain Driver Log.
• Communicate with Dispatch.
• Build positive relationships with customers and co-workers.
• Perform physical tasks as needed (lifting over 50 lbs).
• Use satellite tracking equipment.
• Observe and comply with Ministry of Transportation rules.

This position provides opportunity to be home daily while working overnight and weekend shifts. Drivers will be responsible for timely and secure local deliveries, completing vehicle inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing excellent customer service.

Position Summary

Operating tractor trailer equipped with multi-speed transmission (Automatic or Manual) safely by adhering to all safety requirements

What you'll do.

• Perform inspections of mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment of tractor trailer unit before, during, and after trips, including gauges, lighting and electrical systems, and visual checks of potential water, oil, fuel and air leaks
• Connect and disconnect semi-trailer hoses
• Completing all applicable paperwork. Maintain up-to-date Driver Log throughout the duration of each shift.
• Responsible for communicating with Dispatch.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and co-workers in a professional manner
• Be able to perform physical work at times (lifting in excess of 50lbs)
• Use of satellite tracking equipment
• Observing and complying with rules and regulations of the Ministry of Transportation and the Highway Traffic Act
