Job summary

Herc Rentals in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a safety-focused Class 1 (AZ) Driver to transport and deliver construction, aerial and heavy equipment across assigned territories, with yard and branch support duties.

This role primarily serves Northern Ontario and requires flexibility for local deliveries, regional routes, and occasional long-haul assignments. Mon–Fri schedule with overtime and potential early starts; strong safety mindset essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (AZ) Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Air Brake (Z) endorsement.
• Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience operating manual transmission vehicles.
• Experience hauling construction, aerial, agricultural, tanker or other heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of load securement including chaining and strapping equipment.
• Ability to load/unload and handle equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable using electronic logs and mobile technology.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport, deliver and retrieve construction, aerial and heavy equipment across assigned territories.
• Act as a backup semi-driver to support coverage during vacations or peak periods.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain logs and records.
• Secure equipment using proper chaining, strapping and blocking techniques.
• Navigate busy job sites and long-distance routes.
• Support branch operations including yard activities and equipment staging.
