Job summary

Armtec Inc. in Walkerton, Ontario, is seeking an AZ Truck Driver to deliver and pick up materials for the production team. You will operate forklifts and assist the production crew, reporting to the Transportation Manager.

Required: Grade 12 or equivalent, AZ Licence; forklift certificate is an asset. The role offers competitive wages ($27.00–$30.00 hourly) along with overtime opportunities and onsite parking.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent required.
• Forklift operators certificate is an asset.
• AZ Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Complete log books and mileage reports.
• Schedule and communicate repairs or maintenance.
• Inspect materials during loading/unloading and report damages.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safe work practices.
• Determine best delivery routes considering weather and road conditions.
• Assist in plant and yard duties as required.

Armtec is growing and has the following opportunity in our facility in Walkerton, Ontario:

AZ TRUCK DRIVER

Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Driver delivers and picks up materials from suppliers and customers in a timely and professional manner. The Driver operates forklifts, works with hand tools and various production equipment to support our production team.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections,
• Complete necessary log book and mileage reports
• Schedules and communicates any repairs or maintenance
• Inspect all material while loading and unloading, reporting any damaged materials immediately
• Maintains a clean, uncluttered and safe work area as designated.
• Determines best route for delivery considering weather, time and road conditions
• Follows Company Safe Work Practices
• Picks order and assists in plant and yard duties as required

Education and Experience

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
• Forklift operators certificate, an asset
• AZ Licence

Competencies and Technical Skills

• Proven ability to service and maintain truck and trailer
• Ability to read a map and plan delivery route to maximize efficiency
• Superior work ethic with excellent time management skills
• Self-starter, working independently and with minimal supervision
• Mechanically inclined in order to recognize potential problems with equipment and ability to repair equipment.
