Overview

Armtec Inc. has a career opportunity in Grande Prairie, Alberta for a Yard Associate. This is a hands-on role outdoors involving forklifts, mobile equipment, and production teams to move materials, prepare customer orders, and maintain an organized yard. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will support production, ensure products are shipped accurately, and maintain a safe, clean work environment.

What You'll Do

• Perform product preparation tasks such as cutting bevels, palletizing pipe, rolling couplers, and arch pipe as required.
• Operate hand tools and equipment including plasma cutter, steel chop saw, MIG welder, recorrugator, electrical saws, and nail gun.
• Support the shipper/receiver to safely move finished products and work-in-progress materials throughout the yard using forklifts.
• Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate stock locations.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic servicing in accordance with company procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment, including removing debris, scrap, and keeping traffic lanes clear.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing, construction, industrial, warehouse, or outdoor yard environments is considered an asset.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and support teammates.
• Basic math skills and the ability to work with metric and imperial measurements.
• Ability to read work instructions and complete basic documentation.
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to identify potential equipment issues.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Physically capable of performing manual labour, lifting materials, operating equipment, and standing or walking for extended periods.
• Forklift certification, or the willingness and ability to obtain certification.
