Job summary

Canada Cartage in Oshawa, Ontario is hiring a DZ Delivery Driver for a full-time role, with days Monday–Friday and a start time around 7am, covering local deliveries across Ontario. Qualifications

• Valid DZ license and bondable to work in Canada.
• Clean CVOR and driver’s abstract.
• Recent verifiable DZ driving experience (past 3–12 months).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs.
• Strong customer service and safety-conscious approach.
• Good knowledge of Oshawa area and local roads.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport freight across Ontario.
• Complete deliveries and pickups within Ontario in a timely, professional manner.
• Operate Tractor-Trailer equipment per policy and regulatory requirements.
• Secure freight with straps, chains, and load bars per standards.
• Record e-logs, delivery paperwork, and inspection reports.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues promptly.
• Maintain hours-of-service compliance and adapt to flexible schedules including weekends.
• Provide excellent customer service and professional communication with clients.

We are seeking dependable, safety-focused, and customer-oriented drivers to join our growing transportation team. Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport freight across Ontario
• Complete deliveries and pickups to customer locations within Ontario in a safe, timely, and professional manner
• Operate Tractor-Trailer equipment in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Secure freight using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, and load bars, ensuring compliance with load-securement standards
• Transport general freight in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and cargo securement; promptly report any issues to the maintenance department for timely repairs.
• Accurately complete all required documentation, including e-logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and incident reports
• Maintain compliance with hours-of-service regulations, safety policies, and company procedures
• Maintain flexibility to meet operational and customer demands, including variable schedules, overtime, weekends, or overnight runs as required

Core Requirements

• Valid DZ driver's license
• Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada
• Clean CVOR and driver’s abstract
• Verifiable recent commercial driving experience within the past 3 months to 1 year
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations, hours of service, and load securement
• Experience operating commercial vehicles in winter driving conditions
• Ability to accurately complete eLogs, vehicle inspection reports, and delivery documentation
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and upto 75lbs for some locations
• Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional, safety-focused approach

Role-Specific Requirements

Minimum 1 year of verifiable DZ driving experience

Strong knowledge of Oshawa and surrounding areas

Previous experience operating specialized equipment power and manual pallet jacks, pump trucks

Ability to safely perform hand-bombing, including manual loading and unloading of freight, as required
