Job summary

Direct IT Recruiting Inc. is seeking an AWS CloudOps Manager to lead availability, performance, security, and cost efficiency of cloud infrastructure. This role blends hands‑on technical leadership with people management and FinOps practices across multi‑cloud environments.

You will mentor six engineers, champion AI‑driven observability, own uptime and SLAs, and push IaC via Terraform/CloudFormation while driving cost optimization and security governance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, cloud infra, or related field with people leadership.
• Hands-on AWS expertise across core services and multi-cloud ops experience.
• Experience with AI tools, AIOps, EngOps, and observability platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, overseeing hiring and performance.
• Drive AI-driven observability and automated incident remediation across clouds.
• Ensure cloud uptime, reliability, and performance per SLAs/SLOs.
• Oversee incident management, on-call rotations, and postmortems.
• Advocate IaC adoption with Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Lead FinOps for budgeting, forecasting, and rightsizing.
• Collaborate with Security, Compliance on governance and audit readiness.
• Own AWS security posture including least-privilege IAM, GuardDuty, Config.
• Define and monitor KPIs like MTTR, MTTD, availability, and AWS spend.
• Own disaster recovery and business continuity across regions.
• Drive CI/CD modernization and improve developer experience.
• Oversee database reliability for PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, DynamoDB, MongoDB.
