Job summary

HOOPP is seeking a Sr Cloud Platform Engineer in Toronto to design, maintain and optimize cloud infrastructure for Finance, Investment and Risk teams. You’ll partner with Architects, PMO and Security to align cloud initiatives with business goals.

Responsibilities include building secure, scalable AWS/Azure environments with IaC, driving automation, and improving observability. You’ll mentor peers and contribute to a proactive, security‑driven culture.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT infrastructure operations or cloud platform engineering.
• Experience designing and operating cloud platforms on AWS and Azure.
• Strong scripting in Bash/PowerShell or Python for automation.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate secure, scalable AWS/Azure infra with IaC.
• Lead complex production and cloud infra incident investigations.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation and Argo CD.
• Advance automation and AI-enabled solutions to simplify cloud ops.
• Improve observability with modern monitoring, logging, and AI insights.
• Collaborate with development and IT teams to optimize cloud solutions.
• Mentor colleagues and share knowledge as a subject matter expert.
• Participate in on-call rotation for production support.
