The Product
The MADXR (Magnetic Anomaly Detection) is the latest generation of avionics system installed onboard surveillance airplanes and helicopters which allows for real time detection of submarines (hyperlink to product demo). The system has successfully demonstrated performance during test flights and is entering high volume production rate. Our engineering team is faced with the challenge of standardizing the product to enable mass production.
Position Overview
As a member of the hardware engineering team, your primary role will be to design, integrate, validate, and document improvements to the MAD-XR product (Magnetic Anomaly Detection) and associated equipment. You will be a key participant in making improvements to the design and test sequences to produce the MAD-XR system in high volume while ensuring the quality of the delivered product. Within a multidisciplinary development environment composed of avionics, electronics, software, and mechanical engineers, you will transform ideas from their prototype phase into production-ready solutions. You will support production by identifying friction points and providing solutions to permanently resolve them. You will also contribute to the identification and implementation of strategies to increase the production test pass rate. You will support the Hardware Development Manager and project managers to ensure that the developed solutions are coherent and functional to meet the delivery milestones of the MAD-XR program. You will interact with multiple groups at CAE, such as electronics, production, planning, procurement teams, and external suppliers. The position requires presence on site at CAE, 8585 Chemin de la Côte-de-Liesse.
