Job summary

Calm Air International is seeking Air Transport Cargo Handlers to operate ramp equipment, manage cargo and baggage, and ensure on-time delivery. You will support loading, unloading, and storage, while maintaining security and safety procedures.

Shift work including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends is required. Prior warehousing experience and a valid driver's license are assets for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is an asset.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Criminal Record Check required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Valid Class 5F Driver's License.
• Experience in warehousing, receiving and inventory control is an asset.
• AVOP pass per Transport Canada rules.
• Preference for Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries.
• Inuktitut and/or Inuinnaqtun language considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate ramp-servicing vehicles and equipment.
• Position passenger loading stairs and operate aircraft cargo doors.
• Marshal or tow aircraft to gate positions for passenger boarding and cargo operations.
• Load and unload passenger baggage and freight according to security regulations.
• Transport freight between aircraft and airport warehouse.
• Receive, count, tag and weigh all incoming freight.
• Use Amelia Cargo System for arranging consignments and manifesting.
• Daily inventory of consignments within the warehouse.
• Notify customers of inbound freight for pickup.
• Organize the warehouse to store freight correctly.
• Provide a daily on-hand report of all cargo shipments.
• Answer customer inquiries via email/phone/in person regarding cargo questions.
