Job summary

DGA Careers Inc. is seeking a Senior Executive Underwriter for the Mid-Market Commercial segment in Toronto. This hybrid, full-time role requires leading complex mid-market deals, mentoring junior underwriters, and shaping portfolio direction within our Canadian Mid-Market team.

You will underwrite own book, collaborate with brokers, and have opportunities to grow into people leadership while maintaining technical excellence in manufacturing and other hazardous trades.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of P&C underwriting experience in the Canadian market, including complex mid-market risks.
• Manufacturing or other complex/hazardous trades experience preferred.
• A CIP/FCIP credential is expected; FCIP preferred for seniority.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting of complex new and renewal mid-market risks within authority and risk appetite.
• Build and grow a profitable mid-market portfolio with accountability for growth and profitability.
• Develop strategic broker/client relationships as a trusted advisor on complex risks.
• Act as senior technical referral authority on structure, pricing, coverage, and risk selection.
• Coach and mentor underwriters and contribute to portfolio initiatives.
