Halfords in Moray (Elgin) is seeking an Assistant Manager to work with the Centre Manager, guiding day-to-day operations in a busy workshop and retail environment. You will lead technicians, ensure excellent customer service, and drive profitability while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

The role blends hands-on workshop activity with people management, sales support, and training opportunities, offering long-term career progression within the UK’s leading motoring and cycling

Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction through effective management and leadership.
• Experience in coaching, training and developing colleagues in the moment.
• Strong technical knowledge; Level 2/3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance.
• Solid understanding of workshop operations, diagnostics, and vehicle maintenance processes.
• Bring your own tools and put them to great use in a busy workshop.
• Experience of maintaining compliance with Health & Safety standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• IT proficient, with the ability and willingness to learn in-house systems.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Full, valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Centre alongside the Centre Manager to drive profitability and customer satisfaction.
• Balance workshop activity with daily sales and customer service tasks.
• Coach and develop team members to deliver high service standards.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and efficient workshop operations.
