Job summary

Tirecraft is seeking an Automotive Service Technician Apprentice in Southwestern Ontario. You will work under a licensed technician, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to diagnostic and repair tasks on a range of vehicles.

The role involves maintaining vehicles, performing maintenance, and developing tire installation and service skills, with opportunities for certifications and future growth within the company.

Qualifications

  • Minimum completion of 2nd year 310S apprenticeship.
  • Previous experience in automotive repairs and service.
  • Previous experience with tires (installation and repairs).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with Service Advisors to obtain work orders and customer service requirements.
  • Work closely with licensed Automotive Service Technician for guidance and mentorship.
  • Inspect motor in operation, road test, and test automotive systems to diagnose.
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer specs.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance like oil changes and tune-ups.
  • Inspect and test engines, transmissions, brakes to locate faults.
  • Diagnose faults and determine repairs with the technician.
  • Repair or replace mechanical units using hand and power tools.
  • Maintain ability to work independently.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the Automotive Service Technician Apprentice position while actively working towards completing their apprenticeship program.

This is an hourly position with wages ranging from $21.00-$26.00, based on experience.

  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specification
  • Perform scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune-ups
  • Inspect and test mechanical components, such as engines, transmissions, axles and brake systems, to locate faults, possible defects and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with licensed Automotive Service Technician to determine whether to repair or replace unit
  • Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools
  • Consistently able to work independently
Qualifications
  • Minimum completion of 2nd year 310S apprenticeship
  • Previous experience in automotive repairs and service
  • Previous experience with tires (installation and repairs)
  • Valid driver's license with a clean abstract
  • Strong communication skills
