Job summary

Canadian Tire Stores is seeking an Automotive Service Installer to join our fast-paced service centre. Responsibilities include oil and lube services, tire installation, rotation and balancing, and light vehicle maintenance.

You will collaborate with Service Manager, Advisors and technicians, provide estimates, and ensure safety and compliance. Valid driver’s license and ability to work varied shifts are required. Prior COSTAR knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license for province of employment.
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours with lifting.
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, weekends and holidays).
• Approachable and customer-friendly demeanor.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of current automobile technology.
• Experience in a similar role is an asset.
• Good working knowledge of COSTAR is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle maintenance and repairs (oil, lube, tire installation/rotation/balancing) as requested.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Technicians/Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure that unsafe vehicles are reported to management and owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
• Administer drive clean emission tests (where applicable) and RIV inspections (where required).

Responsibilities:

• Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.).
• Administer drive clean emission tests (only in specific provinces).
• Perform Registered Imported Vehicles (RIV) inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid driver’s license for province of employment
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
