Job summary

Lounsbury Chevrolet Miramichi is seeking an Apprentice or Licensed Automotive Service Technician to join our team in Miramichi, NB. This permanent, full-time role operates Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, with opportunities for heavy-duty truck technicians to apply.

Qualifications

• Apprentices must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Or, Licensed Automotive Service Technician certification from an accredited post-secondary institution, or enrollment in a recognized apprenticeship program.
• Graduates of a Heavy Equipment Service Technician program are encouraged to apply.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driver's abstract.
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Basic vehicle maintenance: tire rotations and oil changes, diagnosing complex problems, and planning and executing vehicle repairs.
• Isolate the systems or components that might have caused the problem.
• Drive the vehicle for testing purposes or use various equipment, including hand-held and onboard compression gauges or diagnostic computers.
• Repair or replace worn parts ahead of the vehicle's breakdown or damage.
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles.
