Job summary

Canadian Tire Stores is seeking an Automotive Service Installer to join our team in Port Hawkesbury, Canada. The role involves oil changes, tire installation/rotation/balancing, and light vehicle maintenance in a fast-paced automotive service centre.

You will work with a friendly team, gain ongoing training, and enjoy employee discounts, flexible hours, and community involvement. Experience in a Canadian Tire shop is an asset, and COSTAR knowledge is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Valid driver{'}s license for province of employment.
• Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours with frequent lifting.
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, weekends and holidays).
• Experience in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs on customer vehicles (oil changes, tire rotation/balancing).
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Ensure unsafe vehicles are reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.).
• Administer drive clean emission tests (only in specific provinces).
• Perform Registered Imported Vehicles (RIV) inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid driver’s license for province of employment
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
• Approachable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
• Knowledge of current automobile technology
