Job summary

Canadian Tire Stores is seeking an Automotive Service Installer to join our fast-paced Automotive Service Centre team. You will perform oil and lube service, tire installation, tire rotation and balancing, and light vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities include communicating with service staff, providing accurate estimates, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while delivering excellent customer service in a diverse workplace.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license for province of employment.
• Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours with lifting and carrying.
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, weekends, holidays).
• Approachable and able to work in fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of current automobile technology and ability to use computerized systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, such as oil and lube changes, tire installation, rotation and balancing, and light maintenance.
• Administer drive clean emission tests where applicable.
• Perform Registered Imported Vehicles (RIV) inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure unsafe vehicles are reported to management and owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.).
• Administer drive clean emission tests (only in specific provinces).
• Perform Registered Imported Vehicles (RIV) inspections.
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid driver’s license for province of employment
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
• Approachable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
• Knowledge of current automobile technology
• Ability to work effectively with computerized systems

• Experience in a similar role, in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre (asset)
• Good working knowledge of COSTAR (asset)
