Job summary

Cambrian College in Burnaby seeks a senior administrator to coordinate curriculum and instruction within Automotive programs and departments. You will supervise faculty, plan content, and ensure alignment with course outlines while liaising with other college units and external partners.

You will oversee program planning, staff development, budgeting, and participation in governance committees, with responsibility during absences and support for new faculty members.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of recent work experience in the automotive trade.
• Inter-provincial/Provincial Automotive Trades Qualification Certificate.
• Valid BC Driver's License (Class 5) or equivalent.
• BC Provincial Instructors Diploma or equivalent or willingness to complete within 5 years.
• Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate curriculum and instruction for the department and programs, ensuring course objectives are met.
• Approve and develop Course Outlines and Program Content Guides.
• Supervise faculty and support staff across shifts and locations.
• Participate in meetings and act as liaison with other departments and external organizations.
• Assist in budgeting, planning and department staffing expectations.
• Convene regular department meetings and recruit auxiliary instructors when needed.
• Advise students on resources and support, and guide new faculty in instructional skills.
