Job summary

VOLCANIX AUTOMATION is seeking experienced industrial automation Controls Engineers to support Tier 1 automotive projects across Canada, USA, and Mexico. The role involves on-site support in demanding production environments and offline/remote programming phases, with travel across North America.

Responsibilities include programming PLCs, integrating with robots, and supporting commissioning and troubleshooting. Strong PLC skills and OEM/Tier 1 automotive experience are required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years automotive automation experience (OEM or Tier 1).
• Strong PLC programming experience and adherence to customer standards.
• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley and Mitsubishi platforms.

Responsibilities

• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC systems.
• Support production launches, cycle-time improvements, and downtime reduction.
• Integrate PLC-controlled systems with robots and safety devices.
• Collaborate with controls, robotics, mechanical, and production teams.
• Travel for on-site project phases across North America & Mexico.
