Job summary

Alberta Motor Association is seeking an Auto Appraiser for an Inside role based in Edmonton or Calgary. You will quantify, negotiate, and settle total loss vehicles, review DPI estimates, and ensure fair, timely resolutions for Insureds and Third Parties.

You’ll collaborate with Adjusters, body shops, and vendors to resolve discrepancies while maintaining high standards of claims handling.

Qualifications

  • Experience in auto claims, appraising, estimating, or a related insurance or automotive role.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle repair estimates, parts, and labour pricing.
  • Experience reviewing documentation, photos, and estimates to support accurate claim decisions.
  • Confidence in negotiation and settlement discussions, particularly related to total loss vehicles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Quantify, negotiate, and settle total loss vehicles with Insureds and Third Parties.
  • Research market values and review documentation to ensure fair settlements.
  • Complete required paperwork and regulatory searches related to total loss settlements.
  • Review DPI estimates for accuracy, including pricing, parts, and labour.
  • Work closely with Adjusters, body shops, and vendors to resolve disputes and support timely claim resolution.
