Reporting Reporting to the Senior Process Control Specialist you will be part of the Operations Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Ownership of technical hardware and software issues related to process control and automation systems, including regulatory control, PLC’s (programmable logic controller), process monitoring, data historian, communication networks and HMI’s (human-machine interface)
- Providing process control and PLC hands-on expertise and apply advanced analytical and troubleshooting skill to assist operations, maintenance and technical personnel identify and solve day-to-day production problems
- Providing assistance to the plant training group with the development of training material SOP’s
- Ensuring controls are aligned with plant optimization direction
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a specialization in Process Control or a trades qualification
- 3 years’ of experience as a Process Control Engineer in mineral processing
- Hands-on expertise in VPO (pre-operational verification) and PLC programming and equipment startup (knowledge of Schneider Modicon Quantum/M580 PLC hardware and Control Expert programming platform is considered an asset)
- Expertise in Ethernet communication and SCADA programming (knowledge of Aveva plant Scada/System platform HMI and OSIsoft Pi data historian with Pi Vision is considered an asset)
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
Your Work Schedule:
- Schedule: 14 days of work followed by 14 days off at our Detour Lake mine site, followed by 3 days off
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
