Job summary

Black & McDonald is seeking an experienced Estimating Department Manager to lead the Atlantic Region's estimating function. You will guide a skilled team across commercial, government, industrial, utility, and institutional projects, shaping bid strategy and risk assessment to position opportunities for execution.

You will balance strong estimating expertise with people leadership and relationship management.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years progressive construction estimating experience.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Strong analytical, communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of estimators.
• Oversee and prepare estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Review estimates, assess project risks, support bid strategy, ensure submissions are accurate and competitive.
• Engage with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, consultants, designers, and architects to develop pricing.
• Lead the overall function of the estimating department and drive process improvements.
