Job summary

BDO's Sault Ste. Marie office is seeking a 4-month Co-op Student or Intern to join the Assurance team from May to August 2027. You will gain exposure to financial reporting, analysis, compliance, and teamwork while supporting engagements and working papers.

The role emphasizes client service, integrity, and collaboration, with opportunities for learning and CPA development; compensation range 44k–50k CAD.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in accounting with a long-term goal of becoming a CPA.
• Desire to provide outstanding client service and a commitment to teamwork.
• Proven leadership skills and initiative to seek understanding.
• Strong attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently utilize technical knowledge from courses to carry out work projects and assignments
• Prepare and complete working papers, financial information, and compilation engagements per regulatory standards
• Gather evidence for Assurance and Accounting engagements
• Build positive working relationships with clients and effectively respond to requests and suggestions
• Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis
• Collaborate with and support the Financial Reporting & Insights team.
