AbCellera is seeking an Associate Research Scientist to join the In Vivo Pharmacology team in Vancouver. You will work hands-on in the lab to support in vivo studies and develop assays that inform go/no-go decisions for drug programs.

You have a MSc or a BSc with 2-5 years of industry experience, with 2+ years in relevant bioanalytical assays. Strong ethics, clear communication and teamwork are essential to success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop, perform and optimize assays to analyze samples (e.g., RNA extraction, qPCR, western blot).

• Maintain lab space and readiness of reagents and equipment for study days.
• Generate high-quality data and analyze results using software tools.
• Support in vivo studies by assisting reagent prep and sample inventory.

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Research Scientist to join our In Vivo Pharmacology team. Working hands‑on in the lab alongside experienced pharmacologists, you’ll help build the foundation of scientific rigour that our programs are built on. You’ll support the preparation and analytical phases of in vivo studies that reveal how our drug candidates behave in relevant biological settings - work that feeds directly into the go/no-go decisions shaping which programs move forward to becoming medicines.

How you might spend your days

• Developing, performing and optimizing assays to analyze samples, including tissue dissociation, flow-cytometry, ELISA, MSD, cell culture, and other molecular biology assays on study samples (e.g., RNA extraction, qPCR or western blotting)
• Supporting scientists in the coordination of external studies conducted by CROs, managing laboratory sample handling (aliquoting and shipping) and core administrative operations, including PO generation and invoice processing
• Maintaining the lab space, ensuring all reagents and specialized equipment are ready for study days
• Generating high-quality, reliable data by maintaining meticulous records in an electronic lab notebook and analyzing results using GraphPad Prism and other specialized software
• Coordinating internal in vivo studies by supporting reagent preparation, aliquoting, sample inventory, and handling

What we offer

AbCellera’s hiring range for this role is CAD $68,000 - $80,000 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non-match) RRSP contribution.
