The Work

The Associate Product Manager supports day-to-day responsibilities for the Insurance Lending and Reverse Mortgage businesses. Responsibilities include product identification, reporting, operational enhancements, growth analysis, and supporting departmental projects. The role involves maintaining policies and guidelines, working with cross-functional teams, and providing analytical input for senior management.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Product Development and Expansion:
  2. Collaborate with Product Manager, underwriters, and business leads on industry landscape and product opportunities.
  3. Develop expertise in Canadian Insurance Lending and Reverse Mortgage sectors.
  4. Identify and recommend product enhancements, perform cost-benefit analyses, and lead product launches.
  5. Manage project elements independently and act as project lead when needed.
  6. Ensure regulatory compliance and resource management for new products.
  7. Operational Support and Improvements:
  8. Identify automation opportunities, lead updates to calculators and processes, and monitor operational concerns.
  9. Evaluate and improve key operational processes, preparing business cases and leading implementations.
  10. Reporting and Data Analysis:
  11. Manage ongoing reports, identify gaps, and develop new reports for better insights.
  12. Provide key insights and strategic recommendations based on data analysis.
  13. Sales Support and Growth/Marketing:
  14. Monitor sales tools, analyze marketing initiatives, and support growth strategies with data presentations.
  15. Strategy Development and Execution:
  16. Support lending and wealth strategies, develop presentation materials, and drive project execution.
  17. Assist in external diligence activities.
  18. Underwriting Support:
  19. Serve as a key contact for underwriting processes and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Math, or related field.
  • 2-5+ years in financial services.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Customer-focused, proactive, and self-motivated.
