APS Product Specialist & Local Product Leader

Position Summary: Drive business success by managing all phases of the product, system, or service life cycle—covering development, launch, maintenance, pricing, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy: Execute the local go-to-market product strategy, define and communicate product value propositions, support development from specification to launch, and assist sales and marketing teams in product promotion.
  • Customer Relations: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction, resolve issues, support on-site visits, and achieve marketing and sales targets.
  • Business Planning: Implement marketing plans, develop growth-focused business strategies for the Canadian market.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee product/system lifecycle from introduction to phase-out, manage roadmaps and recovery plans.
  • Profitability: Set pricing strategies and maintain competitiveness to ensure profitability.
  • Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct market analysis, share customer insights, and oversee sales execution, including cross-division solutions and key negotiations.
  • Research & Development (R&D): Partner with R&D for feasibility, collaborate on software updates, develop custom libraries, and support marketing initiatives like product launches and training.
  • People Leadership and Development: Guide and mentor teams, develop capabilities, and support internal and external training efforts.
  • Marketing and Sales Tools: Develop marketing demos, recommend product and service enhancements.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent in Mechatronics, Electrical, Software, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years experience with Industrial Control products and/or related applications in industrial automation.
