Job summary

MUFG Investor Services, Canada Halifax-based, invites applications for Associate, Nexus, Client Delivery (Fund Accountant). This full-time, hybrid role focuses on NAV calculations and reporting for fund clients.

You will prepare NAV packages, support audits, resolve client queries, and ensure SLA compliance while adhering to SOC1 controls. A background in finance or accounting and familiarity with fund administration are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in finance or accounting is preferred.
• Experience in fund administration is an asset.
• Professional accounting designation is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

• Process transactions in the accounting system, with impact on NAV.
• Prepare Net Asset Value packages and supporting schedules for review.
• Assist with audits and financial statement preparation.
• Ensure deliverables and client queries meet SLA requirements.
• Comply with SOC1 controls and checklists.
• Maintain accuracy and deliver high-quality client service.
• Suggest improvements to procedures to enhance client experience.
• Ensure fees are billed on time and collected.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks as required.

Education

Post-secondary education in finance or accounting

Experience in fund administration industry is an asset

Professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, ACCA, CFA or equivalent) asset but not required

• Accurately process transactions in our accounting system as required, understanding their impact on the NAV of the fund.
• Prepare Net Asset Value packages and all supporting schedules to be reviewed by senior members of the team.
• Assist in the audit process and assist in the preparation of financial statements.
• Ensure all deliverables and client queries are met as stipulated in the SLA
• Ensure all processes are performed in accordance with operational controls as stipulated in SOC1 and all relevant checklists are completed.
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy, ensuring a high level of client service is provided at all times
• Provide suggestions to more senior staff on how to improve procedures and enhance the overall client experience.
• Ensure all fees are billed on time and collected in a timely manner
• Any other ad-hoc tasks as required

• Post-secondary education with a concentration in finance or accounting preferred but not essential.
• Experience working in the fund administration industry is an asset
• Completion or interest in a professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, ACCA, ICAEW, CFA (or equivalent)) an asset but notrequired.
