We are hiring an Associate Support Engineer to support the technical needs of customers using Ubuntu and open source products. This role offers hands-on experience, a passion for Linux and open source, and the opportunity to work with industry experts. You will handle complex technical issues across cloud, desktop, and IoT platforms, owning cases from start to resolution in a remote setting.

Location: This is a globally remote role.

Responsibilities include:

1. Providing technical support remotely via phone, email, and web.
2. Owning and managing support cases, ensuring customer satisfaction and SLA adherence.
3. Contributing to and maintaining knowledge base articles.
4. Drafting technical notices and communicating effectively with customers and team members.
5. Prioritizing tasks and continuously learning about evolving products and services.
6. Understanding Ubuntu development processes to set accurate customer expectations.
7. Participating in team communication and suggesting service improvements.
8. Participating in a weekend rotation schedule.

Qualifications:

• Strong academic record and a degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, MIS, or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with Linux troubleshooting and basic knowledge in server administration, programming, networking, or virtualization.
• Ability to learn quickly, handle pressure, and communicate effectively in English.
• Willingness to travel internationally twice a year for company events.

Preferred skills:

• Experience with virtualized environments and open-source contributions.
